Slimbox on gallery2

Hi,

I want to use slimbox to popup thumbnails in my gallery2 (instead of lightbox currently)
Kindly guide me how to install slimbbox and which version of slimbox would be compatible with gallery2. Sorry if this has been asked before, in that case please redirect me to the original link. I am fairly novice to this.

Following is my system information if that helps.

Gallery version = 2.3.1 core 1.3.0.1
API = Core 7.54, Module 3.9, Theme 2.6, Embed 1.5
PHP version = 5.2.17 cgi-fcgi
Webserver = Apache
Database = mysql 5.1.58-community-log, lock.system=flock
Operating system = Linux
Default theme = greypop
