Gallery 2 Alpha-4 (Nice Commits) Released
Submitted by bharat on Mon, 2004-11-29 07:13
This is the fourth and final installment in the Gallery 2 alpha cycle (which means the next release will be beta!). Once again we've made considerable improvements in G2 in the past two months and are presenting you with another technology release so that you can get an idea of how the product is maturing. As with the earlier alpha releases, G2 is stable and reliable, but does not yet have all the features that you will find in Gallery 1.x.
Download the latest code and play with it! Before you ask for help, please, please read the README -- we've made an effort to answer all of your questions there. Especially read the known issues section. Then head on over to the G2 Forums and let us know what you think!
The more feedback you give us now, the better the final version of G2 will be. Thanks for your continued support!

looks good so far. the setup steps seems to be beene trimmed down, so that's a plus. the login link up top is a plus too. i like the modules panel using thumbs up/thumbs down icons to indicate which modules are active, deactivated etc...

definately try it if you have a server box.
Installed it on my server with 0 problems, created albums and uploaded images and voila it's magick.

The anticipation of the final release is killing me.
All I can say is wow. The new installer is great! That was one of the most painless (and best looking) installations I've ever done. If the rest of it works half as well I'll be stoked.
Yeash pretty good...
waiting for the final release.
