Gallery 2 Beta 3 (Bingo!) Released!

This is the third installment in the Gallery 2 beta cycle. In the past 5 weeks we've made considerable improvements to the product. We're getting very close to the final release! All releases in the beta cycle provide a well tested upgrade path from here until the final Gallery release. If you're using Gallery 2 Alpha 4 or more recent, you can upgrade without losing any of your data.

As before, this is a technology release so that you can get an idea of how the product is maturing. It is stable and reliable and though it is missing a few features from Gallery 1.x, it has most of the Gallery 1 functionality and many, many new features that Gallery 1 lacks. We encourage you to download the latest code and play with it! Before you ask for help, please, please read the README -- we've made an effort to answer all of your questions there. Especially read the known issues section. If you're upgrading, be sure to scan the instructions first (it's really easy). Then head on over to the G2 Forums and let us know what you think!

The more feedback you give us now, the better the final version of G2 will be. Thanks for your continued support!

It works so fine for me. gallery(2) is, beneath the Horde Project, the most finest php application i've ever seen.

Update from Beta 2 was problematic. At this point, my Gallery isn't working. Will post more in the forums.

I *just* upgraded from Beta 1 to Beta 2 yesterday (no problems), and only one glitch going from Beta 2 to Beta 3.<br />
<br />
All upgrade bits went fine except for ImageMagik and GD which threw a dump. Went back to the start and through it again and the second time they upgraded just fine.<br />
<br />
Beta 3ing it with no problems!!!!!

Great! Just did an upgrade from beta 2 -> 3. No big problems. Only some layout problems, some my mistake. Notice a switch in 'maxtrix' from col <-> row setting and not always use the files in de local dir, som .css files.

I have been using Gallery1 for a site that is integrated into Mambo <a href="http://www.bandedesign.com"> B & E Design </a>. For my new site I decided use Gallery2 <a href="http://www.homtechsol.com"> HTS </a>. Gallery2 beta2 had some issues with cookies using Firefox. However, I have upgraded to Gallery2 Beta3 and seems to be working fine. Now I just need to integrate it into Mambo and then it'll be set.

works great for me!

Upgrade from beta2 worked flawlessly.<br />
However i still have the bug that slideshow hangs my apache every second album....

This is outstanding. The migrationn from G1 worked with > 3.800 pictures in 76 albums. I am deeply impressed. <br />

Guys,<br />
<br />
Have to admit I'm still on Alpha 4 for PetalsPhotography. We occasionally get login failures: user logs in with correct details, redirects to main gallery page, but still as 'guest'. Is this something that was identified and fixed in later releases? If so, I'll make the efforts to upgrade and do the same for my PayPal Checkout module.<br />
<br />
Thanks, Stuart
