Suggestion: gallery-wide copyright footer

Rather than deal with watermarks, why not just have an editable header, down near the Gallery version, with something like:

All images (c) The Author, 2004.

It'd be so easy, and so useful.... to me :)

You can add that text to your album and gallery footers if you so choose...

The reason that watermarks are so important is that a copyright notice does not prevent people from stealing images. I can yell "copyright" to my heart's content, but if someone takes the image, there's little I can do. If I watermark it, they're not going to want to use it for much because it has my markings all over it.

It still might be a nice option to add to the config system for both G1 and G2. Yes watermarking is very important, no question about it.

I know this is an old issue, but I just wanted to throw my two cents in. I think it would be great to have a copyright string you can set in the admin that gets displayed on every page. I'm off to figure out what file I need to edit to add this staticly for now...

edit /html_wrap/gallery.footer.default and save without the .default extention.

Not in G2.
You would need to edit the template file of the theme you are using.
