Anyone have experience with canaca.com hosting?

Hi all,
I run Gallery for myself and a few friends, and we need a lot more host space then I have now.

Canaca.com have a 10 gig package for about $7.95 a month (which should be enough space :wink:.) I'm emailing their tech support with actual requirements questions (versions of PHP and ImageMagick etc), but would appreciate any feedback from current canaca.com users who use Gallery, to make sure it works.

To answer my own question, their tech support people got back to me and they don't provide PHP outside of Safe mode. They also don't support NetPBM or ImageMagick :-(

yeah alot of hosts have safe-mode enabled, which hurts lots of people and scripts

Get away from these guys as fast as you can:

They suspended my account with no warning, they can not speak English, they do not understand English. You have to send emails over and over. They charge your credit card without notice. Dont give credits, you hvae to get your credit card company to do a chargeback. They STINK, they are the worse. My site was only doing 3000 Unique/day and 34Gb transfer per day. I had a VPS3 which was supposed to give me 2.4T/month.

CANACA.COM is is a very poor website. Downtime is a regular thing. They lost my DNS address, then gave me a new one which was different and so all my links were wrong. It took them 10 days to reestablish my original DNS addresses - with very poor technical support because of very poor English skills, and probably a small technical staff. Their ad selling Domain Names says $10 per year. It's $10 USD for the FIRST year and $20 after that - but they didn't tell me that up front and there's NO REFUND. AVOID THIS COMPANY - At this point I can NOT ftp upload to my site, and their technical staff is confused by the problem. STAY AWAY
