Hi.

I've just finished implement my gallery2 (test) install on my website.
http://www.hwzone.co.il/gallery2/main.php

I'm pretty satisfied with the results.. (Basically you can say that I simply edited /templates/local/global.tpl to add some php-files as header and footer).

anyway, I would really like to see some integration with SMF forum system.
I'm not talking about a complete intergraion of some kind, I just want to use my forum's users-database in gallery2, so that users won't have to register twice.
Do you think it's technically possible? Any chance I'll see it implemented ?

thanks.

Technically possible? Yes. Any chance you see the integration implemented? Not unless someone starts the integration work. The people that integrate G2 with another application all have a certain motivation, they would like to see G2 integrated with this certain application and they can do it themself because they know how to program in php. Now you have to find someone that knows a little php and with interest in integrating this forum software with G2 and we will guide him.
See the sticky Embedding & Integration topic as a starting point.

the first post of the embedding topic has some links and references to the docs/embedding / embed.php / GalleryEmbed.php instructions.

Any progress made here at all? I fear I do not have the PHP knowledge to write anything, but will happily help with testing if it is of any use.

I like your integration, but it is overkill for my needs. What is the simplest way of getting Gallery to use SMF users? I don't need any further integration, just that.
