Gallery2Export iPhoto Plugin

So I don't know if anyone really cares about this, but I did, so... :)

I've modified CopperExport (which is based on FlickrExport) to allow it to connect with Gallery2. Now it is called Gallery2Export.
It works exactly like CopperExport, it allows you to title/tag/describe your images, and select an album to publish them in (or to create a new album to publish them in).
The keywords are grabbed from iPhoto, but the remote call doesn't allow them to be used (? There is not an option for keywords as far as I can tell).

If nobody cares about this, that's cool, I really wanted it and was tired of waiting. :) But I do hope at least someone else might find it useful.

If anyone has any improvements to submit, just let me know. I don't actually "know" Objective-C... so this is what I made by reading the code a bunch and figuring it out. String parsing was the worst. Mabe an hour and a half for new album creation and file upload, and many many hours for string parsing. Oh well.

Let me know what you think. Except if you are going to say 'it sucks' because I don't care ;)

I don't use iPhoto, so I won't be trying this out. But, how well does your diy AC unit work?

I know that setup is terribly ineffecient from an engineering standpoint, but for the few days of summer it's actually uncomfortable here, it would be nice. I guess for ~$20 of materials I can always try it.

It isn't good for cooling a room, that is for sure. BUT it does work fairly well for keeping ME cool.
It takes some ice (frozen bottle of water) in the water, but it keeps me cool even when my room is 80+.
It's good enough for the $15 it cost me.
While I would love something better, it will due. :) haha
But yeah, it is really ineffecient.

I compiled a version of this for Intel Macs (and thus only Tiger and iPhoto 6). Works great. I take no other credit than the recompile; I stand on the shoulders of giants. :-)

Getting a "http error 403: forbidden" error when I try to export.

turned on gallery logging and it seems like its not actually being connected to at all, as the log shows nothing.
Although, apache log does show the hit.

Hello,
I'm brand-new to Gallery, I'm using Gallery 2 module in Xoops. I installed the iPhoto plugin, and when I enter the URL where I want to upload the photos, which I chmod to 777, I get a HTTP error 403: forbidden when I tried to access it. What else do I need to do?

This worked well for me for iPhoto 6.0.5 on an Intel Mac, after I followed the fix posted by halh below ( http://www.hodulik.com/2006/03/26/gallery2export-iphoto-plugin-for-intel-macs/page). Wish the author would update it so that the steps below are not necessary...

For those of you that can’t get the plugin to showup in iPhoto… Do this…

Browse to /Applications
Right click on iPhoto
Choose “Show Package Contents”
Double click the “Contents” folder
Double click the “Plugins” folder
Scroll down until you find the “Gallery2Export.iPhotoExporter.plugin” icon
Right click on said icon
Choose “Get Info”
In the “Name & Extension” field, remove the ‘.plugin’ extension, leaving the rest of the name intact
Close the “Get Info” window
Accept the question about changing the name
Open iPhoto
Click File -> Export -> Gallery2

One:
If you get an Error 403, see if mod_sec is installed on the server. The apache logs would show something like this:

I have not played around with mod_sec to correct this error yet.

Two:
When I tried to use the plugin it crashes when trying to log in. I am using gallery 2.1 and iPhoto 6.0.5 (316) on a G5 Dual 2.7. Any way around this?

I've got all my pics in gallery and want them in iphoto as the store. Will this work with exporting from gallery 1 ro iphoto?
