can't login with firefox - can with IE

There seems to be an incompatability with the way firefox handles plugins or whatever and the gallery2 login method. When I login with firefox, everything looks like it works, but when it reloads the page after login it still says I'm not logged in. When I try it with internet explorer it works just fine. I searched the FAQ and found the entry that looks similar to this, but it explained errors for all clients, whereas this login problem is only with firefox. I also searched the forums and found nothing.

I don't think its a problem with the way I have firefox configured because I use firefox for everything else with no problems at all. In fact, I'm logged into this site using it.

Any ideas?

most of us use firefox as their main browser, so it works of course.

probably you already used g2 with earlier versions, e.g. beta 1 - beta 4.
please clear your GALLERYSID cookies in firefox and try again.

This happens to me sometimes as well, with Firefox 1.06. This occurs mainly when I switch between two different client machines. If I hit F5 a few times, or clear my browser cache/cokies, its working again. Dont know if this is because I never logout from my albums and just kill the browser? This happend a lot more before though, and I dont see it as a huge problem.

mackis5, switching between two different client machines? don't know what you mean. two different clients, or even two different browsers on the same client, use different G2 sessions. so this shouldn't have anything to do with it.

also, once you cleared old G2 cookies, from alpha -> beta 4 installs in your browser, this issue shouldn't occur any more.

Two different machines (my desktop, and my laptop) so yes, physically 2 different machines, both running FF 1.06. You might be right that I didnt clean my old cookies. Its clean now, so I will check if this will happen again.

I am having this issue as well. I am using Firefox 1.0.7
I have deleted the cookie and the session files.
everytime I login using firefox I get this error:

- please post a phpinfo,
- try it with other browsers
- post a test account for g2 and a link to your g2

i could login successfully and browser to a few images. no error.

next time you report a problem, don't forget to tell us that your g2 is embedded etc.

however, it works for me. must be a problem at your end.
try another browser and clear your browser cookie cache ( yes i'm repeating myself).

I'm having the same trouble on my site http://gallery.wesandemily.com

I was installing a fresh installation 2.1, new files and database into empty site. Everything worked fine. Then I updated to 2.1.1 and when I tried to login it wouldn't let me. So I cleared cache, cookies, history, you name it I removed it. Still didn't work. So I deleted my installation with the update and did a fresh installation with the 2.1.1 Same issue after that one as well. I can edit just fine in IE but not in Firefox 1.5.0.2

Any help would be appreciated
