I created a directory called "upload" that I want to upload my photos to for a batch import. I created the directory, called it uploads, and entered it both as a path and URL, but I keep getting this error message:

Unable to find www.etherworks.ca/gallery/upload locally - trying http. (which also doesn't work)

I even gave it generous permissions, but it still doesn't work. What am I missing?

hi etherworks,

I once had the same problem. was able to fix it with full server path, such as:

/home/<user>/public_html/gallery/upload

hope this helps, cheers,

Hello Etherworks,

its indeed what Peter says. You need to tell the absolute System path, no the URL.

bola2api,

can you be a little more specific ?
When you say "whole path"... what do you mean ?
EXACT example ?

Hmm. I'm also having a similar problem.

I haven't uploaded a picture in awhile and now I'm having problems.

I'm using /home/kegsandp/public_html/upload

Keeps saying "unable to find" and I know that this path is correct.

Hello Shawn,

can you explain also what you try to do and what you did to get your expected result?

Greetings,

I click Add photos, I click the tab URL and in the directory, i use the path of the pics i want to add. In this case "/home/kegsandp/public_html/upload". In the past this worked but now I get:

Fetching Urls...

Unable to find /home/kegsandp/public_html/upload locally - trying http.
Could not open url: http:///home/kegsandp/public_html/upload
Processing status...
No images uploaded!

Well I've done some playing and I have a workaround. Gallery Remote, seems to work for me. I was wondering about the difference in upload times between Gallery Remote and FTPing then using the Gallery URL method. In the end, which is quicker???

Hello,

to me this seems the pathes on your webserver changed. I would ask your hoster about this.

None of them is quicker. In both cases you need to upload the photos.
And the routines to add, resize etc. are the same.
