The gallery in question is: http://www.futuresantiques.com/items

Last night and this morning when my client tried to login to his gallery he was getting this error:

Quote:
Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /items/main.php could not be found on this server.

He is using the latest Firefox release on a PC.

I tried on my computer (Firefox Mac) and got the same thing, came to work this morning and tried it on Firefox PC and IE PC and got the same error.

As I'm going through doing searches, I tried to log in again just for kicks, and was able to log in, but now am getting the error when I try to edit photos, reorder items, etc.

Does anyone know what causes this error or what I can do? I have done searches but haven't come up with any conclusion.

Thanks,
Amber

never had a 406 before, but i get it too when clicking advanced search on your website.

my only conclusion is a misconfigured webserver.

So you think this is something my hosting company will have to fix? I literally haven't touched the gallery in days, my client has been editing captions but that's it. I have an email in to my hosting co. Hopefully they will have a solution.

yep, i don't think g2 can do anything about it. only by changing the server/webserver/.. this can be fixed.

I started to get this error some too today. I was getting an internal server error while using PHP 5.1.1 and then I switched back to PHP 4.x (the latest version) and now I've been getting these errors now and then. My host has been making some updates/patches that are security related I beleive, so this may be it. Also, when I check my PHPinfo, it says it's using PHP with a "Hardened Patch," mybe this has something to do with it?

My hosting company told me a security patch they installed was affecting the gallery. They adjusted something on their end and it fixed the error.

thanks for letting us know! if you have even more details (what exactly caused it / fixed it), that would be even greater :)

I didn't save the email he sent me about it, but it had something to do with the mod_security patch. The mod_security thing also caused me problems rebuilding templates in MovableType on my own site. I believe he found some workarounds so that the patch could still be in use, but not affect Gallery or MT.

I wish I could give you more info, but I'm just a web designer, I really am blissfully ignorant when it comes to server technologies, etc. Sorry!
