Initial qu -Slideshow of gallery1 in a website?

We have inherited an existing website. The webmaster insists that he had the gallery in it working as an automatic slideshow on the website opening, and that his upgrading the gallery has messed the automation up.

Is this feasible?
If you are likely to be able to help us sort it out, I'll get all the techy details about the site.
