Well . it's time for a new release. I know some of you have been waiting for it ;-) Changelog is here
Here is Version 0.4.10 which will ONLY work for Gallery 2.0. Download here.
Here is Version 0.5.0 wich will ONLY work for Gallery 2.1. Download here.
Google Map API v2 is available for use (change in the Admin Panel between the two) but IT IS NOT OFFICIALLY RELEASED
, this means:
- I want to have it out there so we can start testing it.
- Do not use it on a production box just yet ... you never know.
- Some functionalities will not work and have been voluntarely disabled for the map to function, they will be ported
As usual create a new thread with issues and let us know

Hello everyone !
Here is the new version of the module for gallery 2.1 only: 0.5.0d
Bug fixes:
- Button to update the theme.tpl (in the Route admin) doesn't work
- Custom control zoom not updated when zoom-in or close-in (auto-regroup)
- Fatal error: Non-static method with the willshow() function
- Out of memory caused by "Google Map" dynamic link.

- 0.5.0 Upgrade path not working
- Debug notice errors caused by some old code not supported in Gallery 2.1 anymore
- Thumbnail Bar cutting map when using the AutoCenter&Zoom
- No zoom functionality when Thumbnail Bar is hidden
- mouseover kills marker in 0.5 (hide but never shows up again)
- zoom in infowindow doesnt work in embeded mode (problem with all the infowindow templates)
- magic button times out -> put a progress bar to avoid time out
- Image size in infowindow nakes some funny looking thumbnails
- Cannot Upload markers when using Internet explorer
Also:
- Added a default thumbnail to show up in the thumbnail bar for Automatic regroup icon (will be configurable later)
- Galmoid provided a new Infowindow to play video embeded right from the map ... pretty cool

I noticed that there appears to be a problem with embedding
videos in the infowindow when using Google Map API V2. This
problem is definitely (at least as far as I can tell) related
to the API itself. It seems to affect only the Quicktime
player -and only- in V2 (not V1) -and only- with IE.
Solved very easily... Don't use IE.
Maybe it will be cured as the API matures (I hope so).
I made a post on the Google Maps API board and have not had any
useful responses yet.
Anybody have an "in" with any of the Google API developers?

I'll try 0.5.0e. I noticed that even using the map to set coordinates would end up sending every photo after the first right into Mozambique.

We haven't released anything for a while now ... I'm blaing it on many thing but I won't make the list
Here is a new version for gallery 2.0 only, correcting bugs and updated language files: v 0.4.10e
Once more, there will be no more developpement to this release because it's fairly complex to keep 2 version up to date, only bug fixes will be incorporated

Hello all,
I have been a bit slacking off lately coz I've been playing avery addictive game
Well I still managed to correct some bugs and release these 2:
Version 0.5.0f for gallery 2.1 only: here
Version 0.4.10f for gallery 2.0 only: here
It's basically correcting the latest bugs and also I modified the setup to prevent activation until a key is created.
I also put some help into the 1st key creation
I'm working on putting a lot of inline help (a bit like jombla) in the admin pages; that's for 0.5.1
)
I'm also working on updating the module for Google API v2; that's for 0.6.0 and 0.4.11 (I promise this will be the last one for gallery 2.0 users

This is about time !!
One Month after the release of the last bug fixes for both Map Modules, here are the latest that take advantage of all the improvements that google has packed for us in the API Version 2 !
Among the important changes that you should know about:
- Coordinate system and Zoom Level Values is changed, the upgrade -should- take care of it for you MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOU DB BEFOREHAND
- The Docked GxMagnifier is gone, Overview map from Google is replacing it
- The GxMagnifier Code is 3x bigger. I haven't figured out why just yet
- Automatic regroup is temporarely removed
Other stuff can be seen in the changelog

Obviously, this is a BIG Change and so it will require some pretty decent testing, but that would be up to you all, I think I've done my share

Hello Everyone, After over a year of being on other projects, I'm very proud to announce another release of the map module for you all to use.
For this one, I've gotten lots of help from SiliconFiend which I believe will continue helping as time permit improving this module while adding new features. So I want to say thanks a lot for the help
This new release is mostly geared toward Gallery 2.1.x but should work with some minor caveat with Gallery 2.2.x and Gallery 2.3.x (beta)
New Features added since 0.5.1d:
- Admin and User Help system to guide user through everything and help understand some confusding stuff
- Changed the all EXIF piece to add a better toolkit (allows for read /write).
- Added the write to EXIF header capability on a per image basis
- Moved the "read all EXIF header and populate GPS field" button into a maintenance tasks
- Changed the add Google Key profile to auto-populate infos if possible
- added the "disable google link" option
- Automatically add EXIF information into GPS coordinates upon upload if available
- fixed the auto-regroup feature
- re-added the history links
- Added a maintenance task to write EXIF header to all picture from infos from GPS coordinates (can be used as a form of backup)
- Export gallery item into a KML file (export to google earth)
- Added the Group item Legend
- 3 Different fullscreen map possible
- Added a block to show a mini map next to images/album
- Started the code cleaned-up to make better use of the Gallery API, more comment and optimizations
- Removed GxMagnifier which stopped working after the new version of the API
- Added Gzoom to replace the previsouly broken GxMagnifier
- Only uses Google Map API v2
- Fixed over two dozen bugs

Also it soon will be available via the Gallery 2.2 DP feature
We are now going to continue improving the code (specially around the item regroup which is very slow) and add feature that have been requested. Since it has been a long time in the works there may be other feature added that I have forgotten about
The next version of the map module will be geared toward Gallery 2.3 users and hopefully should come out shortly after it is released.
Please create a new thread if you find any bugs and/or issues.
