Check this, out and then spread the word, THIS LAW CAN'T PASS!!! (not to sound like an old person but CONTACT YOUR LOCAL OFFICIALS AND RAISE HE**) http://www.linuxelectrons.com/article.php/2006030616160937 allowing a law like this to pass would require anyone who host's a forum to keep personal records on all thier users (something as well know is not going to ever be possible). We've all seen that bull info posted in some users profile, because people like thier anonimity (spell?). This is yet another law designed to take away another right and I'm down right sick of it. I like to keep my personal information to myself and DO NOT want to have to share it with someone on the internet. This law has got to be the stupidest thing I have heard sense well I don't know when but come on. First of all how could something like this ever be inforced. They may as well shut down all forums, blogs and personal websites now because that's where this is leading to. What do you think??? |

there are certainly many points of view for each of us,
in todays increasing hacker and cyber crime environment, having to register/log in with full true and possibly verified identity may be an easy way to screen all those who wish to hide something for some reason. In my own forums I ask people to register with true name when intending to post.
for myself I fully agree to post all with true name and full profile published such as the whois records for registrants. published identities contribute the the stabilizing and strengthening of trust among www community-members - anonymous posters never can benefit or expect any real trust as long as they hide behind nicks and numbers
