I tried the "uninstall/reinstall" but all the comments are still there.
Any other ideas?
Whoops. Tried deactivate, but not uninstall. My gallery got slammed with 1.7Gb of garbage the other day, so I need some way to clean this up. I'll do the uninstall thing now...
I'll modiy permissions (my fault entirely for leaving them set to the default) after I get this cleaned up.

OK. It's worse than I thought....
I got hit with just over 150,000 comments. I can't seem to uninstall the comment module (I mistakenly said "Gallery" before, and edited this post). When I click the confirm button on the uninstallation, it runs for about 30 seconds, and then just returns with a blank, white screen.
Can I use phpMyAdmin to simply delete allrows from the comments table without hurting anything? Are there any cross references I'll have to be concerned with?
Thanks,
Steve

no.
please see existing forum discussions on the topic.
you can also use the "commentblaster" script which is listed on the download page.

Maybe a feature to write out the letters/symbols in a box can solve the comments problems against spambots.

To view all the comments in G2, valiant suggested to go to the main root of your gallery and click on VIEW ALL COMMENTS to see the list of all the comments. HOwever, when I do this, I do not see any comments listed. It says no comments have been posted. How can this be when I do have comments posted for some photos?
