Dead G1 to running G2

I have a flat backup of my old web server from my Mondo image. It was running G1. The machine died and just restored the files. I would like to know if anybody has had any luck moving the files like that to G2.

Dead web server was running Apach 2 and G1 on Debian Sarge.
New web server is running latest from Debian Each.

if you have ~/gallery/albums/ intact, importing it should be straightforward.
