Incredibly slow file transfer with GR?

I'm using Gallery Remote V1.5.1-b36 on Mac OSX 10.5.2 (Leopard). I have ImageMagick installed and working: GR no longer pops up to tell me it isn't installed. Rendering thumbnails seems acceptably fast now. However, image transfers to my server are *incredibly* slow.

I'm seeing file transfer speeds of 5-7 kBps over a 4 Mbps (400 kBps) ADSL link. Using other file transfer methods (E.G.: scp, sftp), I consistently see file transfer rates of 300-400 kBps. It is taking upwards of an hour to transfer 5 images.

This has not been an "occasional" thing- all file transfers are this slow. I'm transferring directly to Gallery- not to an embedded version. My Gallery version is 2.2.4: here are some of the values returned by Gallery's System Information task:

Am I experiencing something unique here? If anyone has any clues about what I could look at that could be causing the slow transfer, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks!
