Hello,

I had a gallery set up before with my thumbnails and pictures looking just like the ones on the above gallery site. I remember it was something very simple that I did, just a matter of setting some option in the gallery. I don't know any kind of knowledge to do custom stuff to my gallery, so I know it wasn't anything like that.

Can someone please tell me what it was that makes the frame around the thumbnails look like that.

Thanks very much:)

Use the square thumbnail manager, Activate it and in the settings use "Fit images to square, padding with background color:" and set the background color almost the same as your background color.

Hi there,

I must be missing something here. I see that the square thumbnails and the thumbnail manager plugin are both installed and activated on my gallrey. I don't see where I can set the thumbnails to be made as squares? Under display in the admin I click on thumbnails, but there is nothing there to do it. I have searched all through admin and don't see anywhere else to set it?

I just read a post that this option may not work if only Gd is installed as the graphic toolkit, and this is the case for my gallery. Do I need to install Imagemagick, is this why I can't even find the build thumbnails as square option?

Thanks very much

I fyou have the square thumbnail module installed and activated there is a admin page for that module.
Site admin -> display section: square thumbnails.
If it does not work with GD as a toolkit like the codex page says
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:squarethumb
then I guess you next option is to install metpbm:
FAQ: I am having trouble configuring a graphics toolkit (ImageMagick, NetPBM or ffmpeg). Help?
