Will ImageMagik work with Windows server?

Hey Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. My host is telling me that I cannot use imagemagik with my plan because it is windows. When I try to put in the path to the binaries, it recognizes that they're present but then all the tests fail. Support said that this program was made for linux and that is why. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have imagemagic on both my MS server & XP box. I needed to install from an .exe file & pointed gallery at the install location. You may have problems if its not you own server as hosts probably aren't going to want to install lots of different types of software that all their users might request. Not sure if there is a way of using just the binaries.

Thanks for your comment. My next question is: Do I have to be able to use imagemagik for gallery to work properly? Everything else works just great. Thanks

Hi,
If I remember correctly the binaries create the resized images & thumbs. I also have the NetPBM binaries working on my MS Server, you may have more joy using these.

Do a search in the forum for a modified netPBM windows based binary & see if that works. If you cant find any that work I can send you the ones I have, although you may have to wait as I'm working away from home.
