Thanks for taking the time to read this! Thanks for any help you can give!

OK so I have installed everything! Way to go on developing this stuff! I have two issues that I can't seem to solve.
I am making this site for some friends that are not very computer savvy. So far it does not get any better than Gallery and wordpress together! This rocks!!!!!

Site in question www.svtawodi.com

The big issue first.

If I create a new post in wordpress and am editing it in the visual mode. I select the add media, add an image button, and up pops the cool window to add from my computer, with a tab for gallery at least that is what I think that tab is.... However I DO NOT HAVE A WPG2 button on the visual tab like I do on the html tab.
ISSUE> No matter what I do all I see in that window is Gallery(0). I can't add from there.

If I go the the HTML view, and click on the wpg2 button, then I can put the image in the post fine.

Second Issue:
I want to use the shorside-10 theme, with the site, but if tell wpg2 to make gallery look like wordpress then it places the bottom bar along side the main gallery page and makes a visual mess of the thing. How can I fix this? I tried as well as I understood them altering the theme to add the wpg2 support, but it didn't seem to change anything. The footer seems to be stuck next to the content no matter what I do...

Thanks for any help you can give!

The button looks like this in the visual editor: (G2 over the TinyMCE "image" button, or "G2Image" :) )

If it's not showing up, it's usually a browser cache issue. You have to do a manual refresh of the "write post" page in WordPress to force a reload of the TinyMCE script so that it will include the relevant g2image code to create the button. Some people have had to go as far as clearing the entire browser cache and reloading the page.

Does it work from another computer? Preferably one that you haven't used before to go to the "write post" page.

I have the same thing going on. I've tried:

Verified no plugins were installed
Clearing browser cache
Trying a different PC
Deactivating/Activating Plugin

Any ideas?

That icon was most definately not there it was driving me nuts!!!

Then it was.... It started working. Things I did that may or may not have changed this.

I swaped out themes in wp. I tried a different theme in wp because I didn't have good support on the theme that I was using seashore it made everything positioned in strange unusable places. I swaped out themes in Gallery2 (because matrix looked really bad as an embedded page).

Then it started working.

I then altered the seashore theme via directions from http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/f20/blogging-wordpress-gallery-wpg2-322.html (I wish that I could figure out a way to send an e-mail to that alywn person and say a big thank you!)
I then swapped them out again. It still worked. No idea why or how but it did. So having no real data it seems to me to have something to do with swaping out and reloading the themes. Did that cause some kind of cache rewrite, I would certainly think it did, but I am like brand new to this. 2 days now.

I am really new at this I had a blast modifying the theme so that it worked, but that was just cause it made a lot more sense than I thought it would. It works now but I really don't know why.

feel free to look at the site, but I don't have access on this one to register new users etc. It is a blog for some friends headed around the world in a small sailboat.

I suspect your WP/Browser cache was stopping the button, I seen a few posts where this has been happening.. Glad you got it working :)
