I am trying to understand how make my gallery searchable and visible to imagine engines such as:
http://images.google.com/
does url rewrite / hotlink block options affect the search engine crawler?

I succeded in placing my lnx.sinapsi.org at the top search engine results, but I am NOT able to do the same with
http://lnx.sinapsi.org/wordpress/gallery
:-(

I have this meaningful URI:
http://lnx.sinapsi.org/wordpress/gallery/v/Uovo_che_balla/Oca_uovo_che_balla_cattedrale.jpg.html

but it is NOT indexed by http://images.google.com/
ONLY by the regular google.com
why?

Please answer me!

I posted a similar message one week ago! No answer....

Hi,

1st: "imagine engines" :D

I am interested in the answer too. I just started to look at G2 & SEO today and suggest you start from here: http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:How_Tos#Search_Engine_Optimizations
and google search with "Gallery2 SEO" or "Gallery2 SEF"

This is the direct link to your image which isn't very nice:
http://lnx.sinapsi.org/wordpress/gallery/d/1575-2/Oca_uovo_che_balla_cattedrale.jpg?g2_GALLERYSID=d4508f0c3d83878e10c25b5fb3b1b754
ho-ho.. I am sure it won't like the ?g2_GALLERYSID=xxxxxxxxx at the end... Remember seeing solution for this in one of the topics here...

Also: you haven't disabled highlightID. move yuor cursor above "Le foto di Luvi e Daniele" and there is the root 302 redirect to main.php issue as well.

Get to work! ;)
So do I...

I am diligently reading the tips and tricks, this one is too difficult:
3)index.php

Apply the mod to use index.php instead of main.php. This is very important! Redirects kill rankings (especially 302's). Also, without this your site will never get assinged the appropriate Page Rank from Google. Update: This mod doesn't work anymore so if you are able to, which you most likely are, modify httpd.conf to add main.php before index.php and all should be well with the world once again.

I am NOT able to modify httpd.conf in order to add main.php before index.php,
please help me.
thanks

p.s. never mind, I saw the thread:
http://gallery.menalto.com/node/36854
has a very looooong discussion about this issue.....

Indeed when I find a Google result it contains the ugly GALLERYSID=xxxxxxxxx at the end moreover if I clik on it, then the browser open the infamous main.php page!

Did you find any solution to get rid of that suffix?

THANKS.

hi, sorry have been busy busy busy.
you still have the gallerySID at the end of your URLs when I move my cursor above an album

I printed topics "thirstten ways to add seo to gallery2" (this is more up to date) and "gallery2 and seo - tips and suggestions"
now both have links to other topics so this is really like a research... will take time...

You r right, but at least I removed SID from single photo links.
Maybe in the future I'll come to a solution....
if you have any further clue, please let me know
bye
