Gallery 1.6 RC1 Bugs

This topic is a for users who have installed Gallery 1.6-RC1 and have specific bugs to report.
General troubleshooting questions do NOT go in this thread, and will be moved or deleted without asking or warning.

For general feedback, suggestions and discussion use this link.

Fixed Versions are available via SVN or separately from Jens' archive.

Once reported bugs have been acknowledged and fixed, the bug will be noted here, and responses will be deleted to keep the thread readable.

The known list of bugs in 1.6-RC1, and their statuses:

Fixed:

1.6-RC2-svn-b16
unhtmlentities() changed 0 values to '', that broke sanitizeInput() and thus getRequestVar()

I am very angry about my self, as this caused a lot trouble at various places.

- Lightbox effect crashed thumbsview when subalbums without an highlight (e.g. new) are present.
- Added missing javascript for password strengthmeter.

- HTML_Safe removes 0 from a string, so check for 0 in getRequestVar()
- Typo in getDimensions that could make problems when using Netpbm.

- Ecard broken. Popup was empty, preview broken.

- Password strengthmeter in setup broke change or set of new admin password.

- Fix: Current settings of locale_alias were not selected and thus could overwritten by a different value.

hey Jens!

this is great news, thanks a lot for all the efforts! I thought that everything had slowed down, as I did not see many updates on your archive page the last months...

I downloaded and installed RC1 and had a quick go. the first I tested was the lightbox effect, looks very nice, but is IMHO not fully integrated with the rest of the gallery. here is what I did and found:

  • activated lightbox feature globally in config wizard for subsequent album update (= every album has lightbox enabled)
  • subalbums are not opened when one clicks on thumbnail, instead lightbox image of album highlight appears. I'd prefer that the subalbum is opened instead. I was then able to navigate into album by clicking on the album name.
  • view counter is not updated when 'lightboxing' album items
  • I then disabled the lightbox effect in one of the root albums and clicked the 'Apply values to nested albums ...' option. the lightbox effect was disabled for the root album only, none of the nested albums was affected. I changed them one by one manually.

that's it for now, I'll test more when I find time later this week.
