The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version:1.5.8
Apache version:??
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):5.2.6
Graphics Toolkit:
Operating system:Linux
Web browser/version (if applicable):

Hi, i've just upgraded from version 1.5.3 to 1.5.8 because i had some pictures that were corrupted. So i thought maybe 1.5.8 will do it.

Now when i upload a picture(i tried several ones) i get the error:

DSC_0010.JPG: Error: HTTP POST failed (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error )

What can be wrong?

thanks for any help

Hello,

have a look in your webserver errorlogs as the error comes from the webserver.

It maybe a result of a gallery issue, but unless you see the reason in the log, we can't verify that.

The error i was talking about is the error that disappears in the remote applet when i upload the picture.

i've put back my 1.5.3 installation for now!

Hi,

why?
Instead of helping us finding a bug and make you and others happy you install an outdated version with KNOWN security bugs?

Hi Jens,

I just put it back to find out what the problem could be.
I cannot find an error log on my server.

On 1.5.8 i saw that the picture's i was uploading came from another camera and the size was over 2MB for one photo. That's why i put back the 1.5.3 to see if there was the same problem. I the first it was. then i re-run the config wizard, but didn't change any setting but save'd them again. Then i could upload the specific pictur's without any problem.

Tonight i'll try to upgrade to 1.5.8 again. Maybe something went wrong during ftp transfer.
I'll let you know.

Hello wijkkie,

can you try 1.5.9-svn-b8?

I fixed a lot of bugs in this pre version. You can get it from http://jems.de/archive
