G2 Album previews available in content types?

Hey folks, relatively new to Drupal 6 user and we've been looking for a gallery solution. We have a news blog and need the ability to add the first X number of gallery images to the end of a story as a teaser, and when you click on those images it would take you to the gallery.

I see that G2 has an image block function, but it stands alone and isn't quite what we need. Before I spend a lot of time integrating the programs, can anyone varify if this type of solution is possible?
