Understanding Image Block Settings

Dumbo Newbies question but searched all the documentation and forums and the question obviously so simple I couldn't find an answer. I'm using 2.2.6 In the image block there is the choice to have Daily Image No Items 3. I thought I would get 3 images that changed each day but only get one. Is that to be expected? (I get 3 of random,viewed or recent choices). Is there a way to have fixed albums in the sidebar with ranbdom or daily images? Thanks for any help |

The interface and documentation could probably be cleaned up, but I'm pretty sure the behavior is by design. If you had 3 of the "daily" images, you'd end up with 3 of the same image, same for weekly, monthly image or album.

So is the daily/weekly/monthly image just a random process pikced form anything in your album?

I don't think it's exactly random. I'd have to look at the code to see how it's chosen, but from what I saw yesterday, there is logic in there to decide what is the daily, weekly, monthly image.
