Private directories with Joomla

Hello ... I need some quick help (and likely this has been covered before but I cant find it )

I need to set permissions on G2 to do the following

Allow a registered user to access their private directory from a menu in joomla (sort of works now) here is the rub

I want them NOT to see the public albums along with their private one.

Can I do this and how ???
