I upgradet from 2.xx to 2.3 bei FTP-uploading and overwriting. I used the plugins: Sizelimit ist important. I would like to use it again. What can I do, to bring back the module-button in Admin to work? Thanks for Help and Kompliment to the excellent Gallery2. |

I have since tried chmod 777 the "modules" bei FTP which took more than 30 Min. but worked.
Then I was able to upload several of the new Modules/Plugins Code into "modules".
They were installed and aktivated bei the -/install/index.php , I repeated this prodedure.
So far partly it seems to work. But still when I want to open the "Plugintable" in Admin I get
page not found error 404 and no access to the Plugin-Manager.
I cant solve this Problem and I could not find other Postings with this problem.

New search with "adminplugins" shows a Posting with very similar problem:

User Sambobb describes, that he solved the problem by deleting all the old gallery-files
except gdata and config.php, then installed from the very beginning, even the database was freshly importet.
I think this is a big approach and will take hours to freshly install and configur.
I will try later when I have enough time to do so.

Support ist marginal on this place, language only in English ist a problem for me.
So I close this Posting myself and thank user sambobb for posting his solution.
2.3 is a completely altered system, I do not recommend to upgrade, even importing
tables ore databese may create problems (access denied in my case, may be Mysql or server related).
So my solution was to completely install the 2.3 Zip-depacked Files via FTP in to a new
directory gallery2. I have only a few members and backup-fotos are uploaded quickly.
More work is creating the albums and specially the permissions for different groups.
Gallery 2.3 does not allow the Admin to create a testuser to test the right settings
for the members, this is a big disatventage! I can ad several Admins with access from
my PC, but that does not show the member settings. Safer may be, but more dificult to
set up. Anyway the completely new installation with a new database worked fine so far,
even the Plugins-Function seems to work.
It appears that Fotos are uploaded faster and size seems not to be limited? I can
not set a Limit for size so far, must test the new plugins later.
