Is Gallery the right software for me?

I am looking to design a simple thumbnail site with search capabilities. Right now I am using Lightroom which is perfect for uploading events. Does Gallery recognize the key words given to the images in Lightroom?
The perfect software for me would be one that allows me to photograph several events each uploaded on its own page (or pages). When someone wants to search through all of my events (pages) and bring up selected images by keyword...the software would bring up the images from all the pages that are associated with that keyword. Is Gallery capable of meeting this need?
Similar to how a stock photo site would work.

G2 has the keyword module: http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:keyalbum
or the tags module: http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:tags

Don't know. Do you have a example image with some keywords?
