At some point in time I install the cooliris slideshow, or it was installed as part of an upgrade. The old slideshow was rinky dink but at least it converted the images before it sent it to the web.

The problem I am having is cooliris, or plain js applet behind it is taking too long to generate the images, basically because it is sending a full size 6-8 megapixel image before it is displayed.

Is there any way to have it pull a lower resolution image to display without me having to upload smaller images? If not is there any way to restore the old slideshow so I can pregenerate the 640, 800, and 1024 pixel sized images for the slideshow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The slideshow never generated images.
I have an update for the current cooliris version where you can set which resize to display instead of fullsize.

That would be great. Actually the old one where you chose your resolution did generate the images on the first run. I used to upload the images, then run the slideshow once. It would take up to 15 mins to start, but once it did the next time anyone loaded it, it would be instant.

Best I can explain it. Thank you very much I will try it out and let you know.

suprsidr,

Looks to work very well. A lot faster by taking those large files and converting them to 800x800 resolution.

Thank you for the update, I'm glad to have the slideshow feature back up and usable.
