Hello, I have a quick question about how the search works with Gallery2. I added a photo to my site with the IPTC caption "Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) resting on frosted mound of earth" and the IPTC keywords "red, wildlife, foxes". When I make a search on the word "fox" it gives me 0 results. Is it possible to make gallery2 search my IPTC data? Gallery: 2.3 Thank you |

site admin -> EXIF/IPTC
verify that 'When photos are added to Gallery check for IPTC Keywords and apply to:
[] Item Keywords' is checked.

I have this option checked. The search still can't find my IPTC keywords. Anything else I can verify?

It might be only for new items added. Try a new item. If that does not work post a image that has the info so I can test.

I hope you don't mind but I sent you the picture private msg. I did not want to post the picture out to the public.

I added your item and it works for me. Keywords are imported and I am able to search them.
A few issues that I can see;
1. IPTC: Keywords got truncated because of the quantity. Not positive, but the limit is 255 characters.
2. Only keywords are imported. The title is imported if you check the other boxes in the exif/iptc module

Thanks for all the help! Everything is working now. I wasn't aware that the limit of characters was 255 characters. Take care!
