Hey guys!

I managed to download and install the "Formatted URLs" plugin and it does display links on my albums and photos but the problem is that when I link to a picture it just displays that maddening white box with the red X.

Some of you excellent folks sent me suggestions with script that I need to adjust but there's where I get stuck.

I have limited HTML knowledge and I haven't successfully been able to download, edit, and upload HTML (yet). (Download and edit, yes, but when I upload the edits aren't there but that's for the CoffeeCup forums.)

I have Gallery2.3 and I'm using the Carbon theme and, like I said, there are copyable URL links showing but they're broken.

Thanks to those who've helped me get this far and also to those willing to help a mentally challenged noob... hehe

I'll try to provide any and all info you folks might need to resolve this frustrating issue. Just let me know what you need!

I've been trying to absorb all of this new Gallery stuff and it looks like I might need ImageMagick or something? I don't know...

It'll take me some time to learn more about making the "phpinfo link" though. I'll share it if/when (I hope) I make it.

Thanks!

Hmmm...

My primary use for the linking of pics is for use on MySpace, Facebook, etc.

Here's a screen cap of how that same pic looks on a posted bulletin with MySpace (with all of the link options shown):

Confusing...

Some CMSs etc don't like urls without extensions so I guess you want to install and activate the http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:rewrite
to make better urls.

Whoa!

I activated that plugin and all albums and photos were unseeable and I got some "FTP error - file not found" page.

I deactivated it and everything's back to normal (sort of... HA!)

I really appreciate your efforts on this issue but when I try to read (and comprehend) all of the instructions I have a hard time absorbing it all but I'm trying.

Maybe if I just write some HTML script that I can save to Wordpad it will work. I'll just change the file name within the script for each pic manually. It's old school but I think I might be able to share my pics that way.
