Flash Movie: video only when exiting full screen

Hello Folks,

I've started to post some .flv on my gallery for the first time. They all have the same behavior on all the computers/browsers I've tried:
When pressing |> play, you can hear the sound of the movie, but no video. If you switch to full screen, sometimes you see the video, sometimes not, but after pressing [ESC] to exit fullscreen, then both audio&video are playing in the player which has been resized to the video size.

Any idea what needs to be done to play correctly from the get go ?

Edit Movie -> Movie Size and add the height X width.
You can install and configure ffmpeg to automatically detect the dimensions for you and if capable produce a thumb from a frame in the move.

You can also try my update which does a better job of detecting the dimensions from within the player itself.
The update also adds admin options for button visibility, color and autoplay.

Thanks for your answer, suprsidr !
Tried to install ffmpeg from rpm's... keep getting endless dependencies errors....
Finally got ffmpeg from svn, compiled and installed.
Yet, behavior is still the same.
Different ways get it to play is to go full/screen and go back, or to stop the movie, right click and select "replay"... then it'll play normally.

Suprsidr, I did download flashvideo_02.zip, but not sure how to 'install' it to the gallery ?... Do you have an FAQ about this you could point me to ?

  • gallery admin -> plugins -> flash video -> uninstall
  • delete /gallery2/modules/flashvideo
  • upload new version to /gallery2/modules/flashvideo
  • gallery admin -> plugins -> flash video -> install/activate
  • gallery admin -> display -> flash video -> set your options
  • enjoy
