One of the recent updates to Cooliris caused the filenames of images to be displayed at all times, not just on mouseovers. This only happens in my gallery, not on any other sites.
It's pretty ugly, my company has a big focus on aesthetics so I would prefer to remove the file names if possible.

Well, you can edit the title out of the feed:
/gallery2/modules/slideshow/templates/SlideshowMediaRss.tpl
no need to create a templates/local directory - does not apply here.

Will that leave the black bar at the bottom of each image?

<- Not a cooliris developer you will have to try, or ask them.
