My gallery is running verry slow since the biginning, and some thumbs don't load at all (sometimes 5 pictures in a thumb page).
I have other websites hosted in the same server, without any performance problem.
I think it is not a so big gallery compare to others.
I tried to "optimize database" in maintenance menu, switch to matrix theme, set "complete" and "none" in the performance menu,... without better results.
If somebody has an idea to help me... thanks. ;)

Exif uses quite a few cycles, and is not necessary unles your worried about image rotation. I'd disable it.
Also GD is a horrible waste of memory and you have Imagemagick, so I'd disable GD.
If you are trying to display a large number of blocks on your photo pages ie. random photo, dhtml menu tree, search, peers.... they all take memory.
Try disabling some of the unnecessary blocks.
