I have the above error when trying to reinstall G2 after the first copy stuffed up. I have deleted everything in the MySql db several times and to no avail. I have also downloaded a fresh copy of G2. Here is the log.... Many thanks, Bruce

Try again and see if setting the db engine type ( say mysql ) works.
Also check to see if the you have permissions to write to the /tmp directory.
A php info link will help.

Thanks Dave, my only problem is that I am a little naive when it comes to all this and so I need to ask you where I would set the engine type and look for permissions (!!)
I did originally set up the program with no problems and all worked perfectly. Then I made a few stupid mistakes and wound up reinstalling. That's when all this started. The above log was from G2 and so I just tried a G3 install and it also came up with the same error -1. Do you think it might be something to do with space constraints on the server?

Durring the setup of G2 there is a step for telling G2 what DB engine to use. There is a dropdown as far as I remember that has something like mysql, mysqli, postgress and a couple of others.
It could be a space issue as well.

Ok I have it sorted out. It was in fact, a glitch with the server and after a few changes and a restart, it loaded up perfectly. So the error -1 was indicating an inability to write to the server. Cheers, B
