Is Gallery2 scalable and suit my project?

I consider to integrate Gallery2 to my project.
Gallery2 is responsible to store images of members

The size of the project is as follows:
Number of member: approximately 100,000
Number of photos for each member: 30 (2 albums, 15 photos for each)

Can Gallery2 manage this?

one of the potential problem is that there are 100,000 subfolders (one for each members) under folder ../g2data/albums
Will this be a problem?

Gallery can handle it, your hardware might not. Please click the above links and read the posts. I don't know how Care2 is doing then members and integrating their site with G2, but they have over 9 million members and many millions of photos. They are using clusters of servers, a very custom version of G2 that they modified themselves.

I'll just say this straight out, you won't be able to do this at ANY shared host. Or if you do, they'll be dropping your account soon or you just won't be happy with performance.
