I can't switch php safe mode off

Hello,
i have a question i have downloaded Gallyer2 but i can't install it on my webspace because i can't switch php safe off. My provider doesn't do that
Can i although install Gallery 2???

If you can't turn safe_mode off, you can't install Gallery.
