I saw a proofing gallery online that had a nifty little control that let visitors view an image in either colour, black and white or sepia. I very often upload loads of pictures to my gallery to act as an online proofing tool, and the ability to switch colour to black and white would help cut down time processing images enormously as I'd only need to put up one colour picture instead of a colour and black and white variation.
Does a module exist for gallery 2 that would allow the visitor to switch between colour and black and white?

No, probably never will either, at least not by a Gallery developer as they are all working on G3 right now. And unless someone outside of the core team writes something for G3, I doubt G3 will ever be able to do this as it's not the main focus of Gallery.

A couple of years ago there was a summer student ( google summer of code ) that had something similar. There was a item edit button and it brought up a item edit interface where you could adjust various aspects. Sadly it never got finished and the student vanished.

That's too bad, that would have been a really cool addition.

I knew I could find it eventually. Too bad the links don't work for the demo... as it was cool.

It is a shame because it would have been a useful feature
