Last week I had some problems for the first time with my gallery photo gallery. Database problems and the gallery would just error out. I decided to un-install, and delete the database, and start from scratch. I re-installed v2.3 and began reloading images from XP on my computer. I began noticing that it was mixing thumbnails from different albums. I went from album to album and did thumbnail rebuild and that seemed to fix it. Went to the site admin-maintenance and deleted cache... but I'm still seeing the thumbnail mis-match on several of the albums. Sometimes the fullsize pic from one album is being displayed in a different album. I'm about ready to re-do the whole install again, but I thought I would ask here, and see if any of the gurus have any thoughts. so far, I haven't seen any similar topics on this problem. My site is being hosted by Godaddy.com with Linux server. Last Run Details: Gallery URL = http://www.nerdsfromhell.com/gallery/main.php NSFW any help is appreciated The Nerd |

Do you really need or want help? My reply to your other post was left unanswered.
Still no link to phpinfo: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/88702#comment-311999
Sounds like you may have done this already, but I would do this in this order:
Delete template and database cache
Rebuild thumbs and resizes.
You may need to do this on an album by album basis by clicking on Edit Album > Album (tab) and selecting the appropriate options there.
Are the images still messed up? If so, I suspect database corruption.
btw, I added a NSFW tag to your links again

Sorry about that. link to phpinfo is in place. I did use your advice on the login problem, and it was some sort of cookie problem.
I did delete template and database cache, and then rebuilt the thumbnails (gave all the thumbnails a different size)
There are still problems with pic/thumbnail mismatches after doing the above.
an example of the mis-match:
from this page, you'll see a thumbnail for DSC00542. The thumbnail is correct. When you click on it, it displays a thumbnail from another album. I used an ftp file manager, and the DSC00542.jpg image on the server is the correct file. just weird stuff.
I do appreciate your expertise nivekiam. thank you in advance.

Yeah, I was seeing this when I was looking at your site from home the other night.
Can't view your site from where I'm at right now. Let's check a few things:
1) FAQ: How can I make sure that my installation files are all intact?
2) Try changing themes to Matrix. Does it still happen?
3) Install the Integrity Check plugin. Site Admin > Plugins > Get More Plugins (tab) You may need to select either the community or experimental repositories and update the list. That plugin is about 1/2 down the page under the Gallery section.
That adds a task under Site Admin > Maintenance. Run that task and see what it reports. For example I just ran it on one of my Galleries:

Here's what I got after running the integrity check:
Check data integrity and report any inconsistencies.
Last Run Details:
Checked 2780 entities
Orphaned data in table AccessMap with no row in AccessSubscriberMap table; ids: 8, 9, 10, 12
Orphaned data in table DerivativePreferencesMap with no row in GalleryAlbumItem table; ids: 15, 16, 327
One thing that I forgot to mention, is that when I installed Gallery, I used the 'auto-install' with my webhosting (godaddy). I'm suspecting that I should have manually installed the package.

That shouldn't be a problem.
Oh, I just noticed your using GD. Can you try and see if ImageMagick or NetPBM works? If so, try uninstalling GD and using only one of ImageMagick or NetPBM. Then deleted your thumbs and resized versions by going to /lib/support
Then don't rebuild just yet, try just browsing the site and let Gallery build the thumbs and resized versions as you're browsing. Are there still mis-matches?
If things look good, try rebuilding them using Site Admin > Maintenance or Edit Album > Album (tab)

I also checked the upgrade file check, and it said that all tables are current, and passed the integrity check.
I'll change the image editor to ImageMagick and see how that works. thanks again for your patience.

Sorry, go to www.yoursite.com/gallery/lib/support
There's options in there for taking care of the Cache and a few other things.

ahh... just figured it out, and deleted the thumbnail cache... hey, that took care of the example problem that I posted. This looks promising. Let me play around in the galleries and see if that fixed it. You're good nivekiam!
