Paypal and Transaction fee

Hi all,

I sell my photos for my business using Gallery. One issue I have seen is that when a customer decides to use PayPal for their payment method (credit card)
they are only charged with the amount as per photo. When the transaction goes through Paypal I am copped with a 2.5% transaction fee thus loosing money.

Is there a way that if a customer uses PayPal via credit card Gallery can add the 2.4% onto the total amount thus making the customer pay the fee not the business?

This may be a Paypal problem but thought you may know of an answer?

Thanks in advance!

Is this a problem with Gallery 3? Gallery 3 doesn't have a shopping cart or paypal plugin yet.

Also, my opinion, but this is the cost of doing business. For my business, I don't and can't legally, charge my customers more for using a credit card versus cash or check. I don't know about where you are at, but any business that does this in the US is breaking the law. Though I have seen some businesses who obviously dodge taxes, offer cash discounts. Yet, I still have to pay just to swipe the card, plus a percentage of the transaction, plus another charge at the end of the day when I send all the day's transactions. If it's a order over the phone, I pay even more same with if it's from my imprint machine if my internet connection is down and I can't process credit cards live.

Moving this to Gallery2 support...

It's one of the conditions of use of Paypal that you don't charge customers more for using paypal than for any other method of payment.
