Preventing registration

At the present moment, anyone can request a registration, though it has to be authorized by the admin. That might load the admin's email server because everybody in the world can register.

I wonder if there is a way to get rid of the "register" link so that only the admin can add new users manually?

Site Admin > Plugins uninstall the Registration plugin
