Group Permissions and Mount WebDAV Link

Running Gallery 2.3. I made a group called Family with permissions View All Versions, View Comments, and add Comments. I added a user with no permissions specified, added the user to Group Family and tried to log in but was not permitted. When I specified the same permissions for the user as for the group I was able to log in as the user. Do users not inherit the permissions of the groups they are members of? If they do not, then what is the use of groups if I must enter permissions for each user? Additionally, for a group and user with permissions limited to View All Versions, View Comments, and add Comments, I still see the menu item Mount With WebDAV. I would like that option limited to admins. Is there a way to turn off user galleries? Only admins will be adding pictures to a single gallery. |

Permissions should apply to groups just fine. Can you post a screenshot of your permissions page?
As for webdav, search the forums, there is a hack you can do to hide that. But other than that, no, they can see it but they can't use it.
