Hi, I am feeling a bit silly here, but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to get content in remotely for a user. Here is a quick overview of what I am doing and what I cannot do.

My gallery is working beautiful. With my admin account, I can remotely add images with my Eye-Fi card all day long. It works great.

Now, under admin, I add a new user under Site Admin > Gallery > Users. This user is allowed a name, a password, a language and an email address. Simple enough, but I cannot find where to assign any permissions.

So, I go to Site Admin > Gallery > User Albums and tell it to create an Album when the user is created. I check and sure enough, the Album is there. All looks good.

Now, I go change my Eye-Fi card to log in under the new user name and password, and try to send photos. They never arrive. Is the user not allowed uploads?

I switch back to the admin account on the Eye-Fi card and it starts uploading again as I shoot more pictures.

I switch back to the user account - it won't upload.

I look for permissions for that account or a menu that allows me to set any permissions, and I cannot find any. I cannot see anywhere where to tell if that user is allowed uploads or not.

When I log back in as that user, I notice the menu option Your Album and Add a Photo. I go there and there is a small menu on the left for that user, but nowhere there is anything about remote uploading or permissions to upload.

How do I get any user, besides Admin, to be able to receive files from the remote Eye-fi setup under that account name?

Thanks for the help...

Go to your main page of gallery and click Edit Permissions.

Nothing called "edit permissions" on my main gallery page, or even in my admin options. That's why I am so confused. Doesn't make sense why there is nothing there to do this.

Could this be an issue with the Carbon theme?

O.K., it seems it was an issue with the theme. However, I am now at the permissions page from the admin account, and I cannot see how to take users and give them upload privileges. Any help you can give me?

Give the users Add Item permission, if you want them to create albums add the Add Sub Albums permission.

O.K., I see:

[core] Add sub-album
[core] Add sub-item

If I enable [core] Add sub-album, it creates a new album and ads the image. That's cool. If possible, I would like it to just ad an image under its account instead of making a new album. Am I missing an "Add Item" setting somewhere?

I should have looked at the terminology, Add sub-item was what I meant.

Take a look at the User Albums plugin

Along this same line, I am doing the same thing with an Eye-Fi card. However, I can only remote log in with the Admin account. I cannot get any of the user accounts to even be able to log in. What do I need to do to get a user account to log in? Admin/password works, but username/password always returns "Unable to log into service. Please check username and password."

Any ideas what I can do or what I am doing wrong?

Thanks...

I don't know. I just tried to test and couldn't log in with a test user, but that could be because of where I'm currently at or the server I was trying to test on...

Have you EVER been able to remote in through a different user account? This seems like it would be a very basic thing and I am just missing something.

I've only ever used remote through admin for testing only. I don't like the remote interfaces. I FTP and using the add from local server method.

So, you have to have a local computer open, it wifi's to your computer and then the images are FTP'd from your computer to Gallery. Is that what you are saying?

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me - I need multiple users to be able to shoot and have the Eye-Fi wirelessly send the images to the Gallery2 server under their account.

I know nothing about Eye-Fi and how it functions.

Well, the principal should be the same. Can you use Gallery Remote to log in as a user. If so, how?

I need to clarify here... the Gallery Remote app works fine with all user names. It is the remote plugin module that I am referring to as to what is not allowing users to log in.

Sorry for the confusion as they are both referred to as "remote"

Any ideas?

Gallery Remote is the only "remote" app I know or have used. Again, I know nothing about the Eye-Fi card or how it thinks it's suppose to interact with Gallery. But apparently it's not doing it correctly.
