For some strange reason I am now no longer receiving emails when an order is placed. The sender is not receiving either. It was working perfectly but now - zip! Any thoughts????

I don't know about this module but can you test sending email though the G2 interface; site admin -> general tab.

No, I learned from alecmyers (the plugin's developer) that he's not using G2 to send the email. He's just sending straight out from the plugin.
At least of course if I'm remembering the right conversation

It was working fine until I inadvertently deleted all the albums. When I added 2 albums, I can proceed to ckeckout and all works fine - the orders appear in the admin orders section but the emails don't arrive. I tried uninstalling the checkout email and reinstalling but still no luck.

Solved. Nivekiam thanks for that comment. The settings in the site administration had been filled in over riding the php sendmail function so all is working now!
