I have lost the side bar, there no option on my gallery page, can somebody point me to where I can reset it so that the option reappears (I was playing about in the Themes setup)

Secondly, I want to change some of the wording on the front gallery page like 'This is the main page of your Gallery', now according to the browser this is main.php and if I view it as source in the browser it is mostly html, but when I open main.php it look like php coding. Where do I find the real file that I can edit to change the wording??

Thanks in advance

Tim

Add some blocks back to the sidebar. Site Admin > Themes

I see the sidebar when I visit your site, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

OK I may have the wrong word here then, but the first couple if times I logged in there was an option up by the word "login" in the top right corner which when you clicked on it a menu would slide out from the left side of the screen and give you options to add albums etc. it this slide out menu option which is missing. Apologies if I have used the wrong word\name.

That sounds like the Carbon theme. You're using the Matrix theme and it doesn't do that.

Thanks Nivekiam, I changed the themes back over and the slide out bar is there, I mistakenly thought it was part of the gallery2 structure as opposed to part of a theme.

Does anybody know the answer to my other problem;

"Secondly, I want to change some of the wording on the front gallery page like 'This is the main page of your Gallery', now according to the browser this is main.php and if I view it as source in the browser it is mostly html, but when I open main.php it look like php coding. On your main page, click Edit Album. There you can edit the title, keywords, summary, description, etc. Of which that phrase is one of those.

It is not the album wording that I want to edit, I want to edit the words on the galleries first page, all the edit that I can make on edit album are words linked to my album and not the main page. If you bring up my gallery and then goto view source in your broswer it display a large html type document which I believe is called "main.php" When I look through the files in the gallery folder on my web site, if I look at main.php it is php coded page, nothing like the source page I see in my browser source view. I guess that this php page is calling the page that I see in the browser, but I can't find the name of the page it is calling so that I can edit the words I want to.

The attached picture show the bits I want to change as well as the graphic dimension for the "galleryLogo_sm.gif" image so that I can add my own image.

I hope this explains it a little better

To change that wording, login, click the little |-> icon on the left, click Edit Album > Album (tab) change the title, description, etc

To change the logo or the dimensions it appears you can either edit theme.tpl (code is slightly different in Carbon's theme.tpl) or it appears you can upload a photo through the theme settings. See Site Admin > Themes > Carbon

Thanks again Nivekiam, just a slight correction to your instruction (which is probably why it took me so long to work it out), to change the title and description it is actually on the general tab under edit albums not the album tab (add ti the fact it was virtually invisible as it was written in dark grey on a light grey background

Changed the logo as you said via the themes setting, thanks agian for all your help.

oops, sorry, You're right. I should have double checked. Fortunately G3 is much simpler with fewer options and lots less screens... :)
