Hello guys !
I just uploaded to the Android Market G2Android v1.5.0, a Gallery2 client for the Android platform !
It is named G2Android, and it is an open source project (GPL v2), the project page is :

For now the supported features are :
- NEW : albums are now sorted
- NEW : nice UI to browse albums
- send one or many photos from Android gallery app
- take a picture (using the camera) and send it to the remote gallery
- jump to the photo you want in your labum
- share and send via twitter, mail, etc...
- caching of picture
- add photos to the gallery
- create new subalbums
- login into the gallery using your username/password, solving issue #1
- New screen activity added : FirstTime, to explain the user what this project is about
- connection to the remote gallery2 of your choice
- browsing albums using a basic ListView
- browsing pictures using Gallery and ImageSwitcher
The next features will be : add a photo to your remote gallery from the camera or any other graphical apps

Well, G3 does not provide a remote API yet, so it's impossible to release a G3 compatible version.

I tried this, and it connected to my gallery and displayed my albums, but when I attempted to upload a photo to a new album it aborted and said "The application G2Android (process net.dahanne.android.g2android) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Using v1.4.1 with a Samsung Moment on Android 1.5.

This sounds like a bug to me... Never experienced that before.
Could you, please, submit a bug through the project bug-tracking system ? that way, you'll be able to provide more details about that happened, and also if some other people run into this issue, they'll know I'm aware of it !

Version 1.4.3, 2nd of March 2010 Bug Fixes
issue #25 embedded galleries are now available via g2android
issue #27 no more errors while quickly browsing the gallery
issue #30 thanks to the .nomedia file; temporary g2android files won't show up anymore in Android gallery app.

Hi,
Since there is now REST API (http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:API:REST), any chance of this progressing? I guess the API is still a bit continuously evolving but it's there in a form now.

Unfortunately I had several issues with this new release:
1. Multiple upload does not work. I can select multiple pictures and G2android tells me they are successfuly uploaded, but nothing shows in my gallery. Uploading individual images works.
2. You have to set a destination folder when uploading, even if you have browsed to wanted folder and selected "add a photo to this album". I organize my folders in years and months, meaning I have several folders named june, july etc. Its impossible to know which folder to choose.
Phone: HTC Desire, android 2.1
Gallery version: 2.3
If these issues where fixed it would be a great app!

for your info;, G2Android is used by many phones running android os from 1.5 to 2.2 included, I've personnally tested it on many galleries. 5there are approx. 2000 users)
could you please create some bug issues in the dedicated issue tracker @ http://code.google.com/p/g2android/issues/list if you can not make it work ?

well, you know, giving an accurate ETA is a bit difficult as I'm working on it during my spare time ;-)
Actually ReGalAndroid can list albums and list pictures of G3; I need it to be able to download pictures now (won't take long) and then make sure I did not break any G2Android previous features (might take long as I changed a lot of things since I created ReGalAndroid from G2Android).
Then, I will release a first version of ReGalAndroid
I'm hoping to make it available this week end... we'll see ;-)

Workes like a charm, for G3.
However a Slideshow feature would be nice, also if the application scaled up a bit to fit the new tabs. It´s in a small window on a galaxy tab. And if you could add an option to disable what picture your on then it would really rock.
Otherwise it works fine.

Not sure how to submit a feature request, it got files as defect?! Well its not defect
Its just nice to haves.
Ill try it out a bit more, love your work all at Gallery, have a very nice workflow now.
Can show my images on my phone, my tab, my computer, can export them from LR as a service change them and re-upload, and have private albums, also use the mediaRSS for screensavers and other slideshows.
Life is great
Just tell me if you need help with some testings, I have a galaxy S and a galaxy tab to test with.
