I just did some maintenance but am a bit confused about what I actually did.
Hit the backup button in maintenance but I can't find any files.
Where would they be on my shared hosted server.
And what exactly did I backup ?

Those are just xml "backups" of your database and they are stored under g2data. I've not been successful in actually using those to restore anything. So best bet, follow this for a backup that you should be more comfortable with:
