Server Add using symbolic links please

Things are looking great with the beta. I can only think of one essential feature that is missing: The Server Add module should use symbolic links instead of creating a duplicate file. I'd really like to serve up a large number of images and the 2x disk space penalty in place now is killing me.

please, this feature is necessary. Absolutely useless for me gallery3 if I had to duplicate all the pictures on my server. Just symlink them to not fill my disk with twice the images.

I moved the ticket to our Gallery 3 ticket tracker: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gallery/ticket/907

It's in Field of Dreams. It'll require a non-trivial amount of work in the system to support symlinks- it's not just a simple hack to the server add module. We can discuss the pros/cons in the ticket itself, but I don't expect to work on this any time soon.
