(With latest exp. version.)
I just added a new sub-album to an existing album and planned to load another 900 photos.
But right after doing the add album, it gave me the message that that folder is NOT writable. this is on a WXP Home system without the security blocking installed.
Then I also noticed the following across the top:
Gallery > 2007 > 2008 > Jan 2008 > 282 > 295 > Aug 2007
The intent was for it to be:
Gallery > 2007 > Aug 2007
The 282 and 295 were photos 283.jpg and 295.jpg found in a completely unrelated album.
I have run Rescue to no avail.

Just found the items table entry for this album and

Quote:
relative_cache_path = 2007/2008/Jan-2008/282.JPG/295.JPG/Aug-2007
relative_url_cache = 2007/2008/Jan-2008/282/295/Aug-2007

Manually editted those two fields, went to Home and then back to 2007 then selected Aug 2007.
It STILL thinks it is located back in that strange path!

I think one of the devs found a way to reproduce the messed up breadcrumb, so that should get fixed. I guess right now run the rescue module, oh, just read your comment. Anyway, that comes from double clicking on buttons. Ah, well his was with deleting... Don't know if it's the same with server add.

<talmdal> how does that song go... rescue me
* talmdal has figured out how to really screw up the parent child ptrs
<talmdal> basically fill up a sub album with a whole bunch of subalbums and images
<talmdal> then go and delete it which gives you the delete confirmation...
<talmdal> press the delete button to confirm the delete and wait....
<talmdal> after a while nothing is happening, did i really click on delete... press the delete button again and wait some more
<talmdal> a little while later, no response, press it again...
<talmdal> a few moments later, all three concurrent deletes complete and
<talmdal> voila, one screwed up database with 5 rows of bread crumbs

As for the permission problem on an XP Home machine.... Double check permissions, don't know what else to say. Though I don't think you can even change permissions on files or directories without using the command line command cacls

I think the 'not writable' is because it was really unable to create the folder since the path consisted of two filenames that were not folders.

WXP does not come with any security tabs etc. But on a couple of my other systems I installed a patch that gave it that capability. Anyway, that part of it is figured out.

Time to search the tables an find that false reference.

(Edit) No ref found!!
I deleted the bad album and re-added it - same problem.
I added a different album to the same location - same problem.
I added an album at a higher level with no problem - could use it properly. Then I moved it into the 2007 album - back to the same problem.
