Not sure if this is expected behavior for parsing EXIF for a Canon Rebel XT camera (yeah I know it is an oldy but goody :D), but I'm getting a few unknown/nonsense values for some of the properties. I've attached a screenshot showing the values. This really isn't a big deal for me, but maybe others are experiencing this even with the newer Canon DSLRs. I haven't ruled out an incorrect setting in my camera, but I know I'm shooting strictly jpeg and would expect the compression property to reflect that value.

I've got some pictures from an XT and I don't seem to have that problem (picture attached). I think this one was an in-camera JPEG.

Please upgrade to an experimental version
FAQ: How do I upgrade?
If it still occurs please post the image(s) in question.

I actually updated from the gallery3 github on September 20th. I'm not sure if I can pinpoint a revision number or anything as I'm new to git. I experienced this in the beta 3 release as well, which is one of the reasons I went to latest revision on the 20th.
Though I did upload a new image and Gallery3 with the same results. To be sure all is well with the image, I validated the original image with the EXIF viewer add-on for firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905). It shows all the data correctly for the same image I uploaded (as near as I can see).
I tried attaching my image to this message , but it is too large. So I cropped it with the built in windows image proggy. I uploaded that version for grins and gallery3 shows the correct EXIF data for it. I imagine that "cleaned" up something, but I generally don't modify (outside of rotating) & upload. I let gallery3 do the resizing.
My active image toolkit is ImageMagick version 6.2.8 in case that helps.

The fixed/resized version is attached for review.

I am able to replicate your issue with my Rebel XT as well.
We use a 3rd party EXIF library, so it might take some time to sort.
Please file a ticket so we don't forget.
