Forgive my ignorance but I just cant understand or have not the experience to install Gallery 2 into my Drupal 6 site. Gallery2 locations - error The php memory test was OK, but it says for overall 'critical errors are present' The gallery 2 instructions say you creare a file using cd $home, then mkdir then chmod, I havent a clue how to communicate unix commands to my hosts server and no idea where $home is, is it in the path above I am so familiar with? Next it says you create a database, and shows you the commands, I didnt do this, but think I can with the mysql database software, is it through phpmyadmin? Then it mentions graphic kits, do I have to load one of these? It then says you can configure gallery2 through your web browser, I tried www.goclot.com/gallery2 but it said page not found. Dripal says you must embed gallery2 into the drupal gallery code which I tried still with these errors. I am sorry to be ignorant, it seems I dont understand paths, dont understand how to type commands into a server, dont understand passwords, and so on and so on, can anyone help me , thanks |

Only the gallery module files should be extracted to your modules directory. The Gallery files should be extracted to a sub-directory of your web root, for example make a directory called "g2" and extract all the Gallery 2.3 files to there. Before installing the gallery module in Drupal, install the Gallery script first. Go to http://yourwebsite.com/g2/ to start the installation. After Gallery is installed, log into your Drupal site and install the gallery module. Finally, go to "Gallery Settings" in Drupal admin to bridge Gallery with Drupal.

Thanks Colin I will have a go at that tomorrow, apologies for delay in answering, I do tend to dabble a lot; bye the way, your photograph reminds me of the film actor from Hawaiin 5 O, Jack Lord, gra.

Thanks so much Colin, sorry to take so long replying, did exactly what you said, have drupal on localhost with wamp, and you can put paths into the browser almost like using windows, and fine, the install came up with all its steps, and I have gallery running thanks to you, and your easy to understand answer, I applaud you.
My next step is to try and get gallery into my website which is hosted, and all I have is a cpanel, and cannot seem to find a way to run the script; have you any help for me on this one Colin, gra.
